"Ok I get it... the tone," Reese raised his hands in defense before wrapping them in a hug around Jockey. "I'm sorry Jock. You know you're my bestest bud, right?"

Jocky looked at Reese. "Being short has its advantages," said Jocky as she watched the second band play their third song. "Right...Reese?" she said, looking at the boy.

"That was a lame advantage!" exclaimed Jocky. The music was getting louder. "You've got to think of something that works for me, Reese, or I am going to dock you." But Jocky was smiling as she said it, proving that she wasn't serious about that.

Jocky looked at Reese. "Well, we're not scary and we're friendly. they ought to party with us," she said as she searched her pocket for her celphone. "Why didn't you invite Shanae to come over tonight?" she asked Reese.
Knowing the boy, Reese would have already asked her to go out by now...or so Jocky thought.
