Background: Born and raised in the great Midwest as the only child of an attorney in the county prosecutor's office and a college professor, whatever she wanted, Kindal got. She grew to love being adored by everyone around her. From an early age, she showed a love of the attention, always willing to jump on the coffee table and sing into her hairbrush for anyone who would listen, or strut down the hallway as if it were a Milan runway.

Starting school had been no different. Wanting only the best for their child, she attended a private, Catholic all-girls school. It was here, among the girls she associated with, that she developed her vain and vindictive personality. Always seeing herself as the prettiest in the bunch or the most talented in the group, Kindal kept her head high and her confidence through the roof, if only to hide the real pain.

During her seventh grade year, rumors spread through the city of an affair between the wife of a county attorney and the mayor himself. Word got around fast and soon, Kindal was having to deal with the rumors. She adored her parents, but at that moment, she hated her mother for what she was doing to the family. Jacobi was determined to keep the family together, if only to save face, but nothing was ever the same again.

Resigning from his job, he was determined to move the family away from St. Louis, using the excuse of wanting to start his own law firm. From their home in the city, he scoured the country for the prime location to move his family. Deciding that he liked the town of Tree Hill, he tested and received his license to practice in the state. Within a week, the family had been packed and loaded to go. While sad about leaving behind her friends and family, Kindal saw this as a new opportunity. It became a new audience to conquer and be adored by.

Ashlyn wasn't pleased. She hated to leave behind her successful job and almost considered staying behind. The rumors that followed her daughter around started within the hospital and soon, she was shunned by everyone. Whispers followed her wherever she went and that was her cue that it was time to leave. Watching the city disappear in the rearview mirror was bittersweet, telling all three Vassars that nothing would ever be the same again.
