reese pointed at her after sinking the ball, "Hey I like those cheerleaders. They're a real confidence booster." He grinned as she caught the ball, "Thank you. Your go."

Jocky made a face. "No, Cheerleaders yell all day," she said, being a bit biased at that point. "They actually distract you guys from making good plays...I think." Oh she knows that wasn't true, knowing how dedicated the player were, but she had to make a point.
"Watch and learn, Reese," she said, dribbling the ball one more.

"If I'm correct, didn't you try out for them once?" Reese asked. He blocked her, and knocked the ball out of her hand, but sadly wasnt fast enough to get it.

Jocky made the shot. She smiled brightly as she turned to Reese. "Well, not really." She passed the ball back to the guy. "Though I wish I could. Seeing those Ravens run down the court all day makes me want to make my own team sometimes." It was a thought...maybe more of a dream for Jocky.

"Why dont you? If yo can get enough girls interested then I'm sure the school wouldnt mind ordering a couple of jerseys," Reese replied. He picked up the ball, and began dribbling it. The game had turned into more of a leisurely game since the two had been talking.

'Well," started Jocky, trying to block the ball. 'Remember the last time I tried to protest why there was no girls' team. the principal had his eye on throwing me out of the school. Thank God he has a soft spot for James and I am James's sister," she said. Her hands were still high in the air, but Reese was taller, so she doesn't see the point of doing so. But anyway, she'd try anything so Reese couldn't shoot.

Reese moved away from Jockey, making the shot. it was so close to sinking, but spun out of the hole. "I was sure that was in!" He watched as Jockey went to grab the ball, "Yeah, I remember."

Jocky laughed. "It's been saying you've made too many shots!" said Jocky as she went to get the ball. "Oh well, life does go on. What do you think of me when I become a cheerleader?" she asked, which she knew was impossible.

"before or after I puke in my mouth a little?" Reese asked teasingly. "To be honest, I'd like to see you in that little uniform," he grinned, watching the ball.

"You are so cruel Reese," replied Jocky, ythough she was smiling. She dribbled the ball a bit, but did not shoot before continuing, "Oh, and you said it was I who wanted to check you out."
She took a shot with the ball. "Dream on, cowboy!"

"I did," Reese grinned. "That was only because I saw you. Caught red-handed girly!" He laughed, knocking the ball out her reach and taking it for himself. "You should do the cheerleader thing. At least give it a fighting chance before you knock it on the court."

"I'll think about it," said Jocky thoughtfully. After all, she was fit to be a cheerleader, having been doing anything that a cheerleader can do. but it wasn't her type...but it was a ticket to catching the principal's eye one way or another.
She tried to grab the ball from Reese, but it was to no avail.

"Dont think, just do," Reese said dribbling the ball. "Just see if you make the cut first, then think about it. Just because you made the squad a week after trying out, doesnt mean you still want to be on it, right?"

Jocky smiled widely at Reese. "You always do know what to say," she said. She was glad that she always had Reese to talk to about this stuff without being shy about them. And Reese, he was just a great childhood friend who had disturbingly gotten a lot taller and a lot harder to play ball with.

"Well you're different to talk to. We've known each other basically since our moms had to arrange our play dates. If it was someone else, I probably would have tried to keep my moth shut... But I dont really feel the need to silence myself or be shy about anything with you," Reese laughed, attempting the shot. The ball bounced four times before going in. "You're getting good at playing though. Still no match for me though. I think I might be too much of a distraction for you," he joked.
